One morning close to Lower Sabie Lodge, we came across a real life drama when a dead hippo was approached by three crocodiles, while the mate tried it's best to scare them away. The drama lasted for hours and mate and cub showed their last respect and displayed grief, while hungry crocodiles never gave up and finally got what they came for. Crocodiles rarely attack grown hippos, so most likely it died from other causes.
